Trigger Finger
Trigger Finger
Trigger finger is a common condition caused by a combination of degeneration of the tendon and swelling within the sheath it glides in. This can cause pain and restriction in your ability to bend your finger and wen severe the finger may remain locked in position unable to straighten or bend. It can affect any of the fingers (as well as the thumb) and becomes more common as we get older.
The most effective treatments are steroid injections or surgical release.
Surgical release is usually performed as a day case procedure under local anaesthesia.
Chris Powell offers both steroid injection and surgical release. He will be happy to discuss your suitability for either treatment during your consultation.
