Wrist Arthroscopy
Wrist arthroscopy is an investigative procedure. It is usually performed under general anaesthetic. It involves putting a small telescope into the wrist joint and gives the best view of the structures concerned. (Better than CT or MRI scans). Mr Powell can take photographs during the procedure and talk you through them afterwards. He is the only hand surgeon currently offering wrist arthroscopy in Northland.
The arthroscopy will help to accurately guide the next stage of your treatment. Occasionally it can be used to provide direct treatment to the area of your wrist in question. Mr Powell can discuss this with you based on your individual condition.
